Ariel El Galatico
Biography
Emerging new talent Ariel “El Galatico” Gonzalez is putting his hometown San Gregorio de Nigua on the map. As dembow has become one of the most popular music genres in the Dominican Republic among young adults, Ariel has followed the trend and has mainly focused on composing dembow music. The chosen alias “El Galatico” is derived from admiration for a close friend that called him by that name. Originally, the name was used by a Dominican saxophone player who went by the alias “Ariel el Galáctico” who played along with Ovic Sax and Puly Gómez.
As a teenager growing up with limited resources it was difficult for Ariel to afford studio time to record any music which led to most of his first recordings being features with other artist that allowed him to split the recording costs. His first appearance on an official music release was on a YouTube video released November 2020 as a feature with artists, El Extasis and Ama2 Slow in a song titled “La Chanty“. While the song did not receive much attention, it did open doors for him to be featured in other collaborations and eventually be able to record his own singles.
“Que Saoco” is his first publicly released music video featuring Ama2 Slow and produced by Dembow Chalice. While Ariel is a new comer and has yet to build a strong fan base, the initial acceptance of the Que Saoco music video shows great potential and bright future for the young artist.
