Biography

Miami based Dominican rapper, Medizina a.k.a Medizinón, has been honing his skills as a Spanish lyricist for the past several years. Originally an underground Hip-Hop emcee, Medizina has fused his 90’s Rap roots into contemporary genres like Trap, Dembow and Auto-Tune Rap. His debut songs “No Te Ofendas”, “Chinita”, and “Tóxico” are a showcase of his versatility as an artist and the range of his creativity in the studio. His self-proclaimed status as “the cure for the common rapper” explains Medizina’s chosen stage name which means medicine.

MediZina’s debut single “No Te Ofendas” serves as an introduction to his ambition to be recognized as lyricist instead of a rapper. Avoiding common rap subjects like jewelry, cars, and drugs, the song focuses on rhymes in the form of name drops. Throughout the record the rapper uses metaphors to compare his ability to rhyme with the success of celebrities and recognized brands. On the single “Tóxico” the artist exposes his toxic masculinity and alcoholism in attempt to “release the bad energy and jump start his music career”.
